2021 Q2 Updates: BioDojo Applications, Future Builds, and More
Apply before June 30th for a chance to be a part of BioDojo's 2021 Cohort
BioDojo is now accepting applications towards our 2nd cohort until June 30th @ 11:59pm. Apply here.
Let us first address this by thanking you. Thank you for coming along with us as we build up an unbounded talent pool for undergraduate biotech talent. We feel that clarity is one thing where our team is trying to improve, we get a lot of questions from people unsure of what our long-term vision is.
So here it is to set the record straight: we are building BioDojo to be a fast-moving, human accelerator for future biotech founders, scientists, and venture capitalists.
You likely knew everyone in your high school homeroom class; you likely did not know everyone in your university’s lecture hall. Our strategy for keeping ambitious people invested in each other and keeping communities of ambitious people active? Keeping everything small and intimate. Our reasoning behind this is simple: small circles aggregate, large circles dissipate.
Now after 7 months of this fiery experiment, we are now scaling our community from 1 cohort of 20 members to two cohorts with a total of 60 members.
Scaling will be a milestone for us and serve as a proving ground for our cohort philosophy on running community. We hope to foster two intimate circles of friends, consisting of future biotech VCs, founders, and scientists alike. This is our plan to scale, but as any early-stage experiment goes, things may inevitably change and we’ll need to pivot accordingly.
If you are willing to help us out at this critical point, please share our application through any of these ways:
Despite the mammoth task of scaling, we are trying out some exciting new experiments with our existing cohorts. Here are a few things we’ve been working on internally:
A public resource for any young person trying to break into the world of biotech
A portal of playbooks that explain the basic science, cutting-edge innovations, and key labs/startups in different areas of life science research. These are digests for people outside BioDojo with no prior experience and who want to learn.
An internal research case competition that will host its final judging event in the public.
We have a lot of things going for the summer, just writing this is exciting us over our next steps on this journey! Thank you once again, we look forward to giving you a progress report on how our second cohort has started in Q3.
